How Much Does Custom Branding Cost?

Short answer: the cost of custom branding depends on which branding method is used, what it’s applied to and how many items you’re ordering. Here’s the quick version. πŸ‘‡

πŸ” The 5 things that affect the cost of custom branding

🧡 1. The branding method

  • Embroidery is priced on stitch count: the more stitches in your logo, the higher the cost.
  • Prints and transfers are mostly priced on the size of print, but the number of colours and the detail in the print can play a role.
  • Setup is usually a one-off cost (assuming artwork or branding method has not changed between orders). Approved embroidery files are stored in our machines, so repeat orders skip the setup. The same applies for most of our printing methods.
  • Premium Heat Transfers (Supacolour) are an exception and need a new setup for any change to the artwork, because new screens are made each time. Supacolour also has a setup fee on repeat jobs.

πŸ‘• 2. The product

  • Caps need their own setup and have a 12 piece minimum.
  • Lightweight or stretchy fabrics may suit a print better than embroidery.
  • Textured fabrics, like piquΓ© polos, can show their texture through a print, so embroidery may be a better option.

πŸ“¦ 3. How many you order

  • Setup takes the same time whether it’s for 12 items or 120, so the cost per item drops as quantity goes up.
  • Most methods have a minimum of 12 for new artwork. Premium Heat Transfers have a minimum of 20.
  • Repeat orders on most clothing and bags have no minimum.
  • Garment bulk discounts start from $825 inc GST on eligible products. See discounts and bulk orders.

🎨 4. The size of your logo

  • Bigger logos = more stitches or ink needed.
  • Full-back embroidery gets expensive quickly, because stitch count grows with area.
  • Thin key-lines and outlines add stitches without adding much size.

πŸ’Ύ 5. Your artwork files

  • Vector files (AI or EPS) are ideal.
  • If your logo needs redrawing, there’s a one-off redraw fee to get it into the right format.
  • Always convert fonts to outlines before sending. See branding setup fees.
