Custom Engraved Products
Laser engraving creates a permanent design by using a precisely controlled laser to alter the surface of a suitable product.
Unlike printing, engraving doesn't add ink or a transfer to the surface. Instead, the laser interacts directly with the material or its coating to create the finished design.
This makes engraving an excellent option for company logos, personalised gifts, names and custom artwork across suitable drinkware, giftware and accessories.
The products in this collection have Engraving available as a branding option, so you can start by choosing the product you want rather than trying to determine whether it can be engraved.
Custom Logo Engraving
Laser engraving can create distinctive company branding without adding a printed layer to the product.
Your logo is prepared as suitable artwork and the laser follows the design with a high degree of precision.
The exact finished appearance depends on the product being engraved. Unlike printing, where we can reproduce specified ink colours, laser engraving reveals or alters the material beneath the surface.
That means the product itself helps determine the colour and appearance of the finished logo.
For businesses, engraved products can be used for corporate gifts, promotional merchandise, staff gifts, events and branded accessories.
Engraved Drinkware
Drinkware is one of the most popular applications for custom laser engraving.
Suitable bottles, tumblers, cups and other drinkware can be engraved with a company logo, name or custom design.
On coated products, the laser can remove or alter the outer surface to reveal a contrasting finish beneath it. This creates branding that is part of the product rather than a design applied on top.
Different drinkware products use different materials and coatings, so the finished engraving can vary between styles and colours.
Engraved Gifts
Laser engraving is particularly well suited to gifts because it can turn an existing product into something much more individual without covering the product in printed branding.
Depending on the item, engraving can be used for company logos, individual names, short messages or custom artwork.
This makes engraved products useful for corporate gifting, staff recognition, client gifts, events, clubs and personal gifts as they have a high perceived value.
Engraved Timber & Wooden Products
Wood and timber can produce particularly distinctive laser engraving because the laser interacts directly with the natural material.
Rather than applying a colour onto the surface, the engraving creates a darker or contrasting mark within the timber itself.
Because wood is a natural material, variations in grain, colour and density can influence the appearance of the finished engraving. Two products made from natural timber won't necessarily engrave identically.
That's part of the character of engraving natural materials rather than a defect in the process.
Engraved Leather & Leather-Look Products
Selected leather and leather-look products can also be suitable for laser engraving.
The laser alters the surface of the material to produce the design, creating a finish that can be particularly effective for logos, initials, names and simple artwork.
As with other materials, the finished appearance depends on the particular product and surface being engraved.
Not every material described as leather or leather-look will react
identically to a laser, so engraving availability should be checked on the individual product.
Personalised Laser Engraving
Engraving doesn't have to mean putting the same company logo on every product.
Suitable products can also be personalised with individual names, initials or other short text, depending on the product and available engraving area.
That opens up applications ranging from staff gifts and awards to personalised drinkware and individual gifts.
Where individual personalisation is available, requirements and pricing may differ from repeating the same logo across an entire order.
What Does Laser Engraving Look Like?
One of the most important things to understand about laser engraving is that we aren't printing a colour onto the product.
The laser interacts with the existing surface.
On one product, that might expose a contrasting layer beneath a coloured coating. On another, it might darken the material. Different materials can therefore produce completely different results from exactly the same artwork.
This is one of the things that makes engraving attractive, the branding can feel integrated into the product rather than added on top.
But it also means you can't say:
"Please engrave our logo in Pantone 186."
The laser beams do not respond to Pantone requests. 😂
The product and material determine the resulting engraved colour and finish.
What Artwork Works for Laser Engraving?
Logos, text and relatively detailed artwork can all potentially be laser engraved, but the design still needs to suit the product and available branding area.
Very fine elements or extremely small text can become difficult to reproduce clearly, particularly on smaller products.
Artwork designed for full-colour printing may also need to be adapted because engraving doesn't reproduce a logo using multiple printed colours.
Strong shapes, clear lettering and artwork with good contrast generally translate particularly well.

How Permanent is Laser Engraving?
One of the major advantages of engraving is that the design isn't a printed layer sitting on top of the product.
The laser permanently alters the surface or coating, so the engraved design itself isn't something that can simply fade away like an applied decoration.
The product still needs to be cared for appropriately, of course. Engraving a logo onto something doesn't render the rest of the object indestructible.
The durability of the complete product will depend on its material, coating, construction and use.
Laser Engraving vs Printing
Engraving and printing create very different results.
Laser engraving alters the product itself and creates a permanent design whose appearance is influenced by the underlying material.
Printing applies inks or another decoration to the surface and provides much greater control over colour.
If reproducing specific brand colours or full-colour artwork is essential, a suitable printing method may be the better choice.
If you're looking for a permanent, integrated finish and the product is suitable for engraving, laser engraving can be an excellent option.
Laser Engraving vs Embroidery
This comparison mainly comes down to what you're branding.
Embroidery is designed primarily for suitable clothing, uniforms, caps, bags and textile products, creating the design with coloured thread.
Laser engraving is used on suitable hard goods and other engravable surfaces, creating the design by altering the material or its coating.
So if you're branding polo shirts, embroidery may be the obvious answer.
If you're branding a metal drink bottle, please don't ask us to embroider it. The embroidery department has enough to deal with. 😂
Custom Engraving for Corporate Gifts
Laser engraving is particularly useful for corporate gifting because it allows branding to be incorporated into products without necessarily making them look like conventional promotional merchandise.
A company logo can be engraved onto suitable drinkware, boards, gifts and accessories, while selected products can also be personalised for individual recipients.
That makes engraving useful for:
- client gifts
- employee gifts
- staff recognition
- Christmas gifts
- events and conferences
- clubs and organisations
- branded merchandise
Because the available products and engraving areas vary, start with the item you want and then check the available branding options.

Custom Engraving FAQs
What is custom engraving?
Custom engraving uses laser technology to permanently mark a suitable product with a logo, name, text or design by altering the surface or coating of the material.
Do you offer custom engraving in Melbourne?
Yes. We offer laser engraving in-house at our Moorabbin, Melbourne facility, with finished engraved products delivered Australia wide.
What products can be laser engraved?
Engraving is available across selected drinkware, gifts, accessories and other suitable products.
Can you engrave my company logo?
Yes. Company logos are one of the most common designs we laser engrave. Artwork needs to be suitable for engraving and the available branding area of the chosen product.
Can you engrave individual names?
Selected products can be personalised with individual names, initials or short text. Requirements and pricing may differ from an order where the same logo is repeated across every product.
Can you laser engrave wood?
Selected timber and wooden products can be laser engraved. Because wood is a natural material, grain and colour variations can affect the finished appearance.
Can you laser engrave leather?
Selected leather and leather-look materials can be suitable for laser engraving. The finished result depends on the particular material, so check that Engraving is listed as an available option for the product.
Can laser engraving reproduce colour?
Laser engraving doesn't print coloured ink onto the product. The finished colour is created by the way the laser interacts with the material or coating, so it can't generally be specified using a Pantone colour in the way a printed logo can.
Does laser engraving wear off?
Laser engraving permanently alters the surface or coating rather than applying a printed layer on top. The complete product still needs appropriate care, but the engraved design isn't simply a surface print that can peel away.
Is laser engraving better than printing?
Neither is universally better. Engraving creates a permanent, integrated finish whose appearance is determined by the product material. Printing is generally more appropriate where specific colours, gradients or full-colour artwork need to be reproduced.
How much does custom engraving cost?
Engraving cost depends on factors including the product, artwork, engraving size, setup and quantity. Contact us for a custom quote.
