Silk is a textile made from the fibres of the cocoon of the Chinese silkworm. It is a luxurious soft fabric with a beautiful shine & drape.
It is the most hypoallergenic of all fabrics & protects the skin from many insect bites such as mosquitoes & horseflies.
Silk is an absorbent fabric, making it comfortable to wear in warm weather, while its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during cold weather.
It does require special care & dry cleaning to ensure its longevity. It has very little elasticity meaning that if it’s stretched, it will not return to its original shape.
