Rayon (also called viscose) is considered a semi synthetic fibre as it is made from naturally occurring plant substances that are chemically converted into fibres for use in thread & fabric.
There are many types of rayon ranging from low to high quality. The fabric created from this substance can imitate the texture and feel of natural fibres such as silk, wool, cotton & linen.
Rayon is soft, durable & despite being semi-synthetic, is actually more biodegradable than cotton.
